Meet the Lender: Jill Sutton

Jill Sutton was just finishing classes in real estate at Central Community College when the mortgage lending position became available at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank in Holdrege, NE. Jill began her banking career at Firstier Bank in 2009, starting on the deposit side and learning new accounts before moving into loan processing and consumer lending. She knew her past financial experience and recent real estate courses gave her a comprehensive base for lending and would be very beneficial in helping people navigate the mortgage loan process. In May 2017 Jill seized the opportunity to begin a career as Mortgage Loan Officer at Lincoln Federal, and in January 2018 she was promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Because the Holdrege branch is a smaller bank, Jill feels she can get to know the customers on a personal basis. Being the single lender at the bank, she relies on her professional team of underwriters, compliance and team leaders at the Corporate Office in Lincoln to help provide expert service to the customers. Jill meets with clients and helps to determine the best loan products for their financial needs. She manages documentation and verification throughout the loan process and closes the loans once they've been approved. She appreciates her clients trust as she works to gather all of the data to process the loan.

What Jill really likes about being a mortgage lender at Lincoln Federal is that the bank has unique loan products that make it possible for people to buy a home through Rural Development and NIFA programs with 100% financing. These programs offer an opportunity for qualifying customers to purchase their own home and get away from the relentless renting cycle. The satisfaction of helping people buy a house to call “HOME” is very gratifying for her.

Within the community, Jill is a member of Rotary and serves as President Elect of the Ambassadors for the Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce. Lincoln Federal is a member of the Chamber organization with dedication to the community and supports the efforts of the association.

When Jill is not at the bank, she enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband, Blake. They love being on the boat, fishing and just being on the water. They have four adult children, with three of them living in Omaha, Imperial and North Platte. Her daughter and son-in-law live in Holdrege, so they take every opportunity to spoil their two granddaughters, Jovie and Finley.

"I learn something new every day, and every loan is different," Jill says. "What I want my clients to know is that I'm working for them, I'm trying to get them the best loan and to find the right products to meet their distinct financial needs. Each customer is an individual, a member of a family, a member of a larger community and each deserves unique consideration. When the puzzle pieces come together and it all fits, it is very rewarding."
