Meet Our Team: Melissa Reinsch

Connecting with people, a basic value that Melissa Reinsch learned growing up in Burke, South Dakota, a small town where relationships with people have always been important to her. She was pleasantly surprised to find that she could make those same types of connections with her customers at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank.

Melissa attended the University of South Dakota and studied Communication. She was introduced to the banking industry 19 years ago when she joined Lincoln Federal Savings Bank in Lincoln. "I was looking for a new opportunity and wanted to be in a job where I could learn," says Melissa. She started on the deposit side of banking, and after one year, she became the Customer Service Supervisor. In 2006, Melissa was promoted again adding Assistant Vice President to her role.

Having responsibility for overall customer service at her branch is something Melissa takes to heart. On any given day, she can find herself wearing many different hats. One minute she can be assisting tellers or opening new bank accounts as she supervises the deposit side of transactions, and the next she can be talking to customers, answering their questions, or serving on a number of committees that help maintain and improve what the bank does on a daily basis: serve its customers. One thing is for sure, Melissa looks forward to coming to work each day because of the people she gets to work with and the customers she meets. "Working with great coworkers and helping our customers is what makes my job enjoyable," says Melissa. "I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to help people meet their financial goals regardless of what they are, whether that is setting up a child's savings account or opening a retirement account."

When not at work, Melissa loves spending time with her family and friends. She has been married for 17 years, has two sons ages 14 and 10, and has a Shiba Inu dog. She enjoys running and participates in several half marathons each year, including her favorite run on the Las Vegas Strip at night. She and her husband spend time cooking together which she finds very relaxing. Melissa also has been involved with the Lincoln chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. As the mother of a son with Type 1 Diabetes, she appreciates the efforts of the JDRF for raising funds through walk/run and gala events.

Melissa also appreciates the community support that Lincoln Federal Savings Bank is committed to providing. The Holiday Food Basket Program is one of Melissa's favorite projects. Through its involvement, the bank’s branches collect donations and do fundraisers throughout the year in order to supply meals during the winter break for elementary students from Lincoln area schools. In 2017, 125 families benefited from this program. "Lincoln Federal Savings Bank is a great company and I like that everyone works together in the best interests of our customers."

“It is very important to earn my customers' trust," noted Melissa. "I believe it’s helped me grow relationships with customers during my 19 years at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank. I’ve been privileged to watch customers bring in their small children and then years later send those same children off to college. That’s pretty special!”
